The Effect of Using the Listening Triangle Strategy on Listening Skills among Ninth Grade Students in Jordan and their Attitudes toward it
This study aimed to investigate the effect of using the listening triangle strategy in developing the critical and creative skills of listening comprehension among ninth-grade students in Zarqa Governorate, Jordan.The sample of the study consisted of 45 students from the ninth-grade students from Sibaweh Basic School for boys. They were randomly distributed into two groups: one experimental group and another control group. A multiple-choice test consisting of 20 items to measure the listening comprehension skills from the audiobook was prepared. A 15-item questionnaire to measure students? attitudes toward the listening triangle strategy was prepared. The results of the study revealed that there were statistically significant differences at the level of significance (?=0.05) in favor of the experimental group attributed to the listening triangle strategy. The results also discovered that there were positive attitudes towards the listening triangle strategy in favor of the experimental group.
