Gharaibeh Distribution and Its Applications
In this paper, we propose a new continuous one parameter distribution called Gharaibeh distribution. Several mathematical and statistical properties of the proposed distribution are investigated such as the shapes of the distribution, moments, skewness, kurtosis, hazard rate function, mean residual life function, stochastic ordering, mean deviations, Bonferroni and Lorenz curves, order statistics, and Renyi entropy. The method of maximum likelihood estimation is suggested to estimate the parameter of the distribution. Applications to three real lifetime data sets are presented and indicated that the proposed distribution provides better fit and outperforms some other existing distributions.
