Synthesis, Structural Characterization and Supramolecularity of (O-methyl dithiocarbonato)(N,N-dimethylaminophenyl) mercury(II)
A new mercury(II) complex [Me2NC6H4HgS(S)COMe] (1) was synthesized and characterized by elemental anaylsis, FT-IR, and 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy. The structure of complex (1) has been confirmed by X-ray diffraction and proved to have a linear coordination geometry around the metal ion with Hg(S2COMe) being in S,S conformation. Intramolecular Hg???S secondary bond resulting in chelation [3.113 (1) ?], while intermolecular Hg???S interactions in the 3.265?3.740 ? range were also observed to form zig-zag supramolecular tapes. In addition, these supramolecular arrays are moreover connected by C-H???S, C-H???O, and C-H???? intermolecular interactions, consolidating a 3D network.
