Decir casi lo mismo: una reflexi?n te?rico-pr?ctica sobre la sinonimia en ?rabe y en espa?ol
This study aims to examine the concept of synonyms and the subtle differences they convey, emphasizing the importance of their proper usage in writing and translation. It also compares synonymy in Arabic and Spanish, analyzing the structural and semantic differences between the two languages. The research explores partial, contextual, and absolute synonymy, highlighting their significance in stylistics, translation, and written communication. Through contrastive examples, it shows that synonymy does not always mean complete equivalence, which can pose challenges for translation and interpretation. The article concludes that synonymy is not a minor phenomenon but a reflection of the expressive richness and cultural evolution of each language, and that, depending on the context, words with similar meanings may or may not be interchangeable.
